World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests Each item upgrading comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade item increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increase when it is upgraded. This value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

The level of an item is a commonly used measure of power, and is visible on all tooltips of items. It also serves to limit how much PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at a lower level. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a measure of the item's damage and its quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor is possible using the level of the Best item upgrade.

On PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full item description, including its ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are many theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated using formulas that determine the worth of an item's stats actually are. It is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in sockets boost the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

This isn't the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can change its stats. For example it can add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods that are in turn increased by the player's skill.

The upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. A white or grey item for instance, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or other special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the specified range, unless it is a unique item or a God roll from a raid boss.

This is another thing that can be modified by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to increase. Like the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the chance of finding items, the properties that are spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is especially useful for early game runs, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of the item up to 140.

Furthermore some items, like the Hollow infused weapon, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be found in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be expensive and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade items or to stop players from losing their item if it does not work.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item can influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects can be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
